Head of Financial Reporting

A FTSE 250 listed banking institution with a substantial £multi-bn balance sheet across Investment Banking, Trading and Lending are currently hiring a Head of Financial Reporting to join their technically strong finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO and working alongside the EXCO members as the leader of the finance function for the lending business, you will be responsible for leading a team to drive financial performance of the business, whilst maintaining sound financial control and accurate financial reporting. 

You will take on a wide remit that will include day to day management of reporting and controls (to include both statutory and regulatory reporting) as well as oversight of the financial planning process across lending and investments. Key to success in this role will be your ability to partner with internal Desk Heads and divisions (Credit Risk/Tax/Prudential Advisory and Reporting) where you will need to influence and challenge strategies and engage on a peer level basis across all subjects and considerations to ultimately drive the banks performance.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong base level across financial controls, coupled with strong man management skills. You will need to have an exceptional understanding of lending and understand the key financial figures and ratios relating to the financial performance, capital, funding and credit of the businesses as well as extensive international financial reporting standard expertise (IFRS). The ability to think creatively and confidently and challenge current processes as well as the passion to design and drive business efficiencies forward is also key to this role.
