About the Role
HedgerWay are currently partnered with a leading UK Property company in the recruitment of a Senior Development Modeller to be based in Central London.
This is a pivotal role for a commercially minded finance professional with strong financial modelling expertise and a passion for turning complex analysis into meaningful business insights. Working closely with Development, Construction, Finance and external partners, you will play a key role in evaluating performance, supporting investment decisions and providing critical analysis to senior leadership and joint venture stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence major development projects by delivering robust financial models, insightful reporting and strategic commercial analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Modelling & Analysis
- Develop, maintain and enhance complex development appraisal models, ensuring accuracy, transparency and best-practice modelling standards.
- Conduct scenario, sensitivity and financial performance analysis to support business decision-making.
- Analyse movements in key development metrics and provide clear explanations for stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality reporting and presentations for senior leadership, boards and external partners.
- Support liquidity analysis, cash flow forecasting and wider business planning activities.
- Deliver ad hoc modelling and analytical support across a diverse development portfolio.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with development, construction, finance and operational teams to ensure model assumptions remain robust and up to date.
- Review and challenge forecasts relating to project values, costs, debt and equity requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including joint venture partners and financing teams.
Commercial Performance & Decision Support
- Take ownership of financial analysis and modelling outputs, ensuring they are accurate, reliable and commercially relevant and identify key commercial risks, opportunities and performance drivers across development projects.
- Support project financing activities and ongoing funding requirements.
- Investigate and resolve issues impacting project profitability and financial outcomes.
Process Improvement & Systems Development
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial models, reporting processes and analytical frameworks and support the adoption and enhancement of planning and forecasting systems.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support quarterly reforecasting cycles and annual business planning processes.
- Review project cash flow forecasts and challenge underlying assumptions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have experience in building, reviewing and improving financial models using best-practice modelling principles. They are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, is an inquisitive problem-solver and has the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
Prior experience in the Property, Construction or Real Estate sector would be beneficial, not essential.
