About the Role
HedgerWay are currently partnered with an international engineering company in the recruitment a Finance Business Partner position based in Surrey.
My client is a market leader in its sector with operations spanning over 100 countries and more than 60,000 employees worldwide.
As Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in driving commercial performance across the business and partner closely with senior operational and commercial leaders to provide insight, challenge, and forward-looking analysis that supports profitable growth and informed decision-making. Alongside strong financial control and reporting, this role has a clear focus on understanding performance drivers, improving margins, and supporting commercial outcomes across the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders, supporting performance improvement and decision-making
- Provide forward-looking financial analysis, insight, and challenge to identify risks, opportunities, and margin improvement initiatives
- Support pricing, cost management, and profitability analysis across the business
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, clearly articulating drivers and variances
- Take ownership of the business P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and control
- Lead month-end processes, delivering timely and accurate management accounts
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and Schindler financial policies
- Support continuous improvement of financial reporting, tools, and processes
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) and have proven experience in a commercial finance, business partnering or controlling role. They are looking for someone that has strong experience in managing P&L, cash flow and balance sheet reporting and has demonstrated ability to provide commercial insight and challenge non-finance stakeholders.
The role is initially a 9 month FTC with the view of going permanent after this period.
