About the Role
HedgerWay are currently parted with a FTSE Listed business in the recruitment of a Group Financial Controller based in Central London.
The company is going through an extended period of international growth and are seeking a strategic and results driven Group Financial Controller to lead the companies global financial control and reporting functions. Reporting into the Group Finance Director, the role will directly manage the group reporting team and be instrumental in shaping the Group’s finance governance, external reporting strategy, internal control framework and system transformation.
Key Responsibilites:
- Lead the global financial close and consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.
- Oversee the preparation and review of Group financial statements, MD&A, and disclosures for external stakeholders, including regulators and investors.
- Technical Accounting & Policy Leadership
- Provide oversight and strategic direction to the Technical Accounting and External Reporting team.
- Review and approve technical accounting papers and policy interpretations for complex transactions.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the Group and alignment with evolving regulatory standards.
- Lead the relationship with external auditors and ensure smooth execution of annual and interim audits.
- Strengthen and maintain a robust internal control environment over financial reporting (ICFR).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global finance team and provide strategic guidance and support to regional finance teams and shared service centres.
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic initiatives, including M&A, capital markets activity, and investor relations.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and long-term planning.
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified and come from an international matrix business with experience of working on large group consolidations. Experience of driving transformation, working with shared service centres and embedding new systems is desirable, not essential.
