Finance Manager

Backed by a well-established privately owned real estate group with a strong track record in residential property ownership, development, and financing, this platform leverages deep domain expertise to originate, underwrite, and manage senior, secured lending to SME housebuilders and property developers across the UK.

Following a recent strategic investment from a leading institutional investor, the business has launched a residential development debt fund targeting 12%+ annual returns while maintaining disciplined underwriting standards and transparent operations.

They are now seeking a Finance Manager to join their growing property and finance business in London. This is a broad, hands-on role with exposure across both property and credit, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to take ownership of core financial operations while actively supporting investment activity and strategic growth. The Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while also leveraging data and AI-driven tools to provide sharper insights and enhance decision-making.

Working closely with senior management and investment teams, the Finance Manager will play a key role in guiding strategy and supporting deal execution. Alongside maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, the role will focus on delivering timely analysis, financial modelling, and performance insights to help drive investment decisions and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Lead on budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cashflow management.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support commercial and investment decisions.

• Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, HMRC regulations, and statutory requirements.

• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes.

• Support senior leadership with financial modelling for property acquisitions, investments, and financing.

• Lead and develop a small finance team, providing guidance and mentoring.

Ideal Candidate

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, ideally within property, real estate, or financial services.

• Strong knowledge of UK accounting regulations and tax compliance.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with accounting software packages.

• Strong communication skills, able to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and balance multiple priorities.

• Leadership qualities with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
