About the Role
Working for a global Hedge Fund based in the City of London, you will support the Head of FP&A with strategic insight and work closely with the business on BAU & project focused FP&A
The firm are renowned for utilising a quantative & scientific approach to investments, and this culture is present across the firm, they have invested heavily in technology to identify trends and opportunites within the market.
This role offers a broad coverage across FP&A, including full ownership of the consolidated P&L. In addition, you’d also provide oversight to a smaller - but rapidly scaling - Prop Trading area. The mix gives strong visibility across the business and offering exposure to cost & revenue focused FP&A.
Key responsibilities
- Takes ownership of core FP&A processes, not just as routine tasks, but as opportunities to deliver enhanced accuracy, valuable insights, and continuous improvements, elevating the cadence and effectiveness of the finance function.
- Embraces technology and systems as tools for driving efficiency and enabling better decision making.
- Perform deep dives into financial data, building models, and providing meaningful insights to support decision making.
- Business partner across functions, proactively building relationships with stakeholders from various departments to understand their needs and deliver impactful support.
A few key things the hiring manager is looking for:
- Logical, structured thinkers who simplify rather than over-engineer - someone who can work through problems clearly and translate that into practical analysis
- Genuine end-to-end P&L ownership and the ability to evidence real accountability, ideally someone who has experience at Group / Consolidated level
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment, with the ability to pivot from BAU to ad-hoc senior stakeholder requests without losing momentum.
- Strong systems capability - Experience building your own models or dashboards from raw data is just as important.
- Someone who thrives in an output-driven environment without close supervision
- Chartered Accountant - minimum 5 years PQE
- Current experience within FP&A is essential
