Head of Finance & Operations

The Head of Finance & Operations is responsible for the full operational and financial oversight and governance of the firm’s business, with particular responsibility for Delta 1 and Securities Lending (SBL) operations.

The role ensures robust, compliant and scalable operational and financial processes across Front, Middle and Back Office functions, while maintaining strong regulatory alignment, capital oversight and financial control. This is a senior leadership position with accountability for operational strategy, financial integrity, infrastructure and control framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Operations & Finance function, setting KPIs, governance standards and accountability
• Act as a senior advisor to the CEO and Board on operational risk, capital stability, financial resilience and infrastructure scalability
• Lead preparation and oversight of monthly management accounts, financial reporting and P&L analysis Manage budgeting, forecasting and cost control processes across the firm
• Monitor profitability by business line, including financing income and balance sheet utilisation
• Oversee regulatory capital and liquidity requirements, including IFPR monitoring and ICARA support Ensure timely and accurate FCA regulatory reporting submissions
• Coordinate external audit processes, statutory accounts and tax compliance
• Own and strengthen the internal control framework, ensuring FCA compliance (including CASS and TTCA where applicable)
• Oversee regulatory reporting processes and third-party service provider governance Lead system architecture, automation initiatives and reconciliation frameworks supporting Delta 1 and SBL activities
• Lead and oversee all operational activities across Delta 1 and Securities Lending businesses Ensure robust trade lifecycle management, including trade support, settlements, collateral management and reconciliations
• Oversee margining, stock borrow activity, financing flows and counterparty exposure monitoring
• Assess and approve operational and financial impact of new products, structured trades and market expansion

Requirements

• Strong accounting and financial control knowledge with solid understanding of multiple asset classes, including equities, derivatives and securities financing transactions
• Deep understandong of Delta 1 and/or Securities Lending operations within a broker-dealer or investment bank
• Strong working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework, including CASS, IFPR and operational risk controls
• Proven experience leading operational and finance teams in a regulated environment
• Strong analytical, governance and strategic leadership capability
