About the Role
We are working with a leading global investment management business on an Interim Senior Accountant opportunity within its Group Finance function. This is a senior, hands‑on role with responsibility for expense accounting across the group, supporting senior stakeholders and leading a small, qualified team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role covers oversight of all non‑staff expense categories, monthly reporting and analysis, and maintaining a strong financial control environment. You will lead a small team of qualified accountants and act as the key point of contact to the wider business on expense‑related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and oversee accounting for group expenses, ensuring accurate accruals and reporting
- Perform monthly analysis and explain variances to senior management
- Business partner with internal stakeholders to ensure costs are understood and controlled
- Maintain high standards of financial control, balance sheet integrity and compliance
- Support month‑end close and present monthly expense results
- Manage year‑end audit processes and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Lead and develop a team of two qualified accountants
Experience Required
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or qualified by experience
- At least 5 years’ relevant finance experience
- Asset management or financial services background preferred but not essential
- Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems
- Confident communicator with proven team leadership experience
