About the Role
As Group Financial Controller, the role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting in a dynamic, fast paced business environment. Working closely with the CFO, the Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring that day-to-day accounting functions including billing, payroll, tax, and cash management, all run smoothly. A key aspect of the role involves developing and implementing scalable financial systems and internal controls that align with the business's current and future needs, as well as supporting documentation and policy processes that uphold regulatory compliance and effective governance.
The position also involves leading the preparation and analysis of regular management reports, including comparisons of actual performance against budget and forecasts, to inform senior leadership decision-making. Budgeting, forecasting, liquidity and cash flow management, and coordination of audit and tax processes are central responsibilities, with the Controller expected to work with both internal teams and external partners. Additionally, the role includes contributing to company secretarial matters and supporting strategic financial decisions across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong academic background and relevant post-qualification experience in a similar role. They should bring a hands-on approach and the ability to operate effectively within a small team and a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Key strengths include analytical thinking, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. Experience with capital-intensive projects and familiarity with the renewable energy sector are advantageous but not mandatory.
