Leading Central London Property company, which is currently enjoying rapid growth, is looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant to join its dynamic Finance team of c.35, as one of two Management accountants reporting to the Financial Controller.
The company operates a hybrid model and staff are currently in the Central London (City) office 3 days per week.
ROLE PURPOSE
This role involves a combination of management accounting and commercial finance duties. The individual will need to be a qualified accountant with strong technical skills and the ability to produce accurate and timely reports. The individual will have good communication and influencing skills and will combine results orientation and teamwork to deliver strong and effective solutions and help deliver the companies Management Accountans and Control Accounts reconciliations.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Developing and overseeing financial/Management reporting and identifying opportunities to improve these (Strong preference of doing this within the Preprty sector).
- Applies technologies to visualise data effectively and clearly.
- To take control of month-end processes, ensuring that monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet control and Bank accounts is carried out in compliance with company policies, taking the lead in the reconciliation of relevant control accounts, posting errors and completing year-end activity to agreed deadlines
- Communicating with all levels within the organisation and being able to present financial information to finance and non-finance members of staff.
- Calculation of bad debt provision in accordance with IFRS 9 – Currently this is prepared in excel manipulating 90mb of data. Maintain and suggest further improvements to the current model.
- Prepare and maintain Rent Incentive Schedule.
- Prepare and maintenance of Rent Reviews.
- Contribute to the planning and production of the company’s annual accounts, and to assist the Financial Controller in liaising with the external auditors, including preparing any required analysis to support the financial data disclosed, and be able to present such analyses in a form that is easily accessible and understood by others.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with solid post-qualified experience (non qualified candidates will be considered if in possession of significant Management Accounting experience, ideally from Propert).
- Preference for Property / Real Estate experience or related.
- Sound understanding of accounting concepts and principles
- Ability to manipulate a large volume of data and experience in carrying out a detailed analysis of data, especially during the year-end to provide results that are easily understood by external auditors and senior management
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload, including coordinating with others and ensuring that statutory and other deadlines are met.
- To work as part of a team and independently to deliver a common goal or objective
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and make decisions on the best course of action
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate others to deliver goals, objectives, and agreed service levels.
