Divisional Head of Finance – South

This organisation is a large, nationally operating business in the housebuilding sector, focused on delivering multi regions projects with strong financial governance, efficient operations, and a continuing programme of systems and process improvement.

This is a broad Commercial Controllership role and will be based in their Thames Valley offices, overseeing a number of regions across the south, west, midlands and north.

They are looking for an experienced senior finance manager/controller who will be responsible for:

• Lead divisional financial planning & performance — oversee budgeting, forecasting and consolidated reporting across the division, ensuring clarity, accuracy and actionable insights.
• Strengthen financial control & governance — maintain robust reporting processes, ensure compliance with Group policies, and act as the key contact for technical accounting, audit, and application of the Finance Manual.
• Drive finance transformation — collaborate with Group Finance and peers to standardise and enhance processes, systems and policies while embedding improvements effectively in the division.
• Support senior leadership decision‑making — partner with the Divisional Finance Director and leadership team to interpret complex issues, provide commercial insight, and deliver sustainable solutions.
• Represent the division & lead strategic projects — deputise at key meetings, manage ad‑hoc analyses (e.g., benchmarking), and participate in joint venture boards where appropriate.

Ideal candidates will come from a Property/Construction background, be qualified Accountants and have proven track record of leading finance teams.
