About the Role
We have been engaged to find a Group Financial Controller to join a client in the Energy & Natural Resources sector on a yearlong contract basis. This role will see the successful candidate take responsibility for team leadership, financial reporting, implementing fit-for-purpose controls and processes, along with budgeting, forecasting and treasury management. With ample opportunity to make an impact from day 1, this represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on leader, to join a business on a sound footing with a new, high quality leadership team. 3 - 4 dpw in the London office.
Acting as a key partner to the CFO, the role will involve:
- Ensuring financial operations comply with statutory, regulatory, and governance standards while supporting strategic objectives
- Overseeing internal controls, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance, consistency, and accurate, timely financial reporting
- Leading forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring financial plans align with organisational strategy
- Managing treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, CAPEX and overhead oversight, surplus fund investment, and debt ratio compliance
- Authorising payments, overseeing supplier payment processes, and ensuring adherence to lender and regulatory requirements
The successful candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant with significant senior financial leadership experience from organisations going through change, in an asset intensive industry. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, deep knowledge of IFRS, and proven ability to manage complex financial operations in a dynamic environment while fostering strong relationships across the organisation.
