This is a high-profile opportunity within a leading UK listed real estate business, operating across a large, complex and international portfolio. The role sits in a visible and commercially engaged tax function, working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, treasury, legal and the wider business on strategic, operational and project-led activity.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Tax Director, this is a broad and varied corporate tax role offering exposure to core compliance and reporting, commercial advisory, governance and significant project activity. The successful individual will support strategic transactions, reorganisations, refinancings and group-wide tax initiatives, while acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across a complex listed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and review UK corporate tax compliance and reporting, including corporation tax returns, tax accounting, deferred tax and group disclosures.
Provide practical tax advice on a range of business-as-usual matters including financing, intra-group arrangements, property issues, contracts and wider operational tax matters
Support key projects and transactions including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, refinancings, capital returns and wider implementation activity.
Partner with finance and commercial teams to assess the tax impact of proposals and help deliver solutions that are technically robust and commercially workable.
Contribute to international tax and cross-border matters, including transfer pricing, withholding tax, hybrid issues and Pillar Two readiness or compliance.
Strengthen tax governance, risk management and HMRC engagement, including risk assessments, controls documentation, governance papers and responses to enquiries.
Drive process improvement and change initiatives across tax, including automation, documentation, reporting efficiency and better use of systems and data.
Profile
Professionally qualified tax or accounting candidate (CTA, ACA or equivalent) with strong UK corporate tax expertise.
Experience gained in-house, in professional services, or a combination of both, with exposure to large UK groups, multinational businesses or listed environments.
Strong technical grounding combined with commercial judgement and the ability to manage varied stakeholder groups confidently.
Proven capability in handling broad tax workstreams, including reporting, governance, transactions and project-based activity.
