Head of Tax - Real Estate Investment Fund - London

About
Reporting to the Global Head of Finance, the Head of Tax will play a crucial role in managing the tax compliance, operations, and policies of the Group.  The successful candidate will work across multiple jurisdictions on international Tax Strategy and Planning initiatives, collaborating with finance and business heads across the Group as well as third-party service provider.

Key Responsibilties

• Oversee the Group’s tax reporting process and coordinate deliverables to the Group audit committee and external auditors.
• Review and coordinate UK/EMEA tax return preparation activities, ensuring compliance requirements are met.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and managing the Group Enterprise Tax Risk.
• Develop, implement, and monitor control systems in alignment with the Group's overall vision.
• Perform tax research, including potential modelling of proposed legislation and other matters impacting the company.
• Provide tax advice to Board and all functions across the group to support business decisions.
• Manage Group transfer pricing including documentation and benchmarking.
• Lead the business in performing functional analysis to support transfer pricing policies.
• Coordinate the implementation of tax planning or restructuring activities and support M&A due diligence and integration activities.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities and external tax advisors, handling responses to international tax queries.
• Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues. 

Key Requirements

• Experience working with or for a Real Estate Investment Fund either in-house or practice.
• Experience of working with both UK and international tax authorities.
• Experience in restructurings and M&A transactions.
• Ability to lead/manage tax accounting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Thorough understanding of international transfer pricing concepts and experience of formulating policy and documentation supported by functional analysis.
• Strong communication and influencing skills and ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels and across the business functions.
