Financial Controller

We are partnering with a private equity–backed logistics firm with ambitious growth plans to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business at a pivotal time in its journey, with the chance to contribute directly to its expansion, including upcoming M&A activity.

The Opportunity

• Private equity exposure: Join a high-growth, PE-backed business with a clear strategy to scale, including potential acquisitions that could double the company’s size.

• Leadership: Manage and develop a finance team of 5 (with scope to expand to 8–9).

• Hands-on responsibility: Oversee day-to-day finance operations, transactional processes, and deliver accurate board reporting.

• Strategic impact: Free up the CFO’s capacity by taking ownership of core finance, while gaining valuable exposure to M&A transactions.

• Growth potential: Work in a business generating ~£10m revenue with a headcount of around 67, offering plenty of opportunity for influence and career progression.

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

• Strong technical and operational finance skills with the ability to “hit the ground running.”

• Experience leading or mentoring a team.

• Ambitious, with a desire to grow alongside the business.

• Comfortable working in-office 5 days per week.
